Nim's Island (2008)
.... Jack/Alex RoverComing April 4th, 2008 A fun outing for Gerard.
His American accent sounds kind of weird to my ears as I can still hear
that delightful Scottish lilt. I enjoyed it but would not list it
as one of the best. |
P.S. I Love You (2007) .... Gerry Kennedy
Gerard is so loveable in this movie. I had seen him in 300 and did not
recognize him and then purchased Beowulf and thought it okay. I
had already seen the mega special effects version and liked that.
When I saw this film, I thought wow!! I need to see more of his
work. I had not really paid him much notice in Tomb Raider or
Reign of Fire. This film really showcases his ability to play a regular
guy!! So cute!!!! |
Butterfly
on a Wheel (Shattered) (2007) .... Neil RandallI did not like this
movie. Gerard's character was kind of slimy guy, but he was
looking fine though sounded strange to me with the American accent.
I much preferred PS I Love You and Dear Frankie although
they were not thrillers but still modern characters. Gerard can
obviously play a modern guy, a hero from ancient history or a fabulous
romantic character called 'the Phantom of the Opera.' |
300
(2006) .... King LeonidasWho could believe that the fellow shouting
'this is Sparta' is the same guy who played the sensitive stranger in Dear
Frankie or the charming Phantom or
the enigmatic Dracula.
I have watched 300 Spartans and enjoyed the story, but Gerard playing
Leonidas is just so powerful there is no comparison to any other film on
the subject.
Action Star of The Year 2007 |
Beowulf & Grendel (2005) .... Beowulf
Not sure how I feel about this movie. Gerard was great but it
ended in a rather unsatisfying way.
|
| Trailer for a Remake of Gore Vidal's Caligula (2005) .... Prefect Cassius Chaerea |
The Game of Their Lives aka Miracle Match (2005) .... Frank Borghi

At the telling of this story, one can only wonder if Gerard was a soccer
goalie in another life. He surely does some fantastic work to give
the US a win against England in the true story of a great sports
upset in the 1950 World Cup. Don't remember hearing of this film
so it may not have done well at the box office but it is well worth
watching the US team kick butt. |
The Phantom of the Opera (2004) .... The Phantom.
There could be no other Phantom but Gerard. I was blown away by
his charisma and fabulous singing. He has an obvious hypnotic
effect on Christine and she could so easily have succumbed to his
seductive
charms. I have heard some of the songs performed by Michael
Crawford and much prefer the rock quality of Gerard's voice. One
of my all time favorite musicals!!! |
Dear Frankie (2004) .... The Stranger
I love this movie! The story is so poignant and Gerard plays 'the
stranger' as very sensitive and sweet. Wow! What woman
wouldn't want a guy like his character. And, a couple of
twists at the end just make it so much better. One to watch many
times. |
Timeline (2003) .... André Marek
Fascinating adventure film of a trip to the past where one man meets
his destiny. Very good casting for Gerard as he seemed very
comfortable and natural in the 17th century. Except when he was
trying to ask his lady love if she had a sweetheart, there was kind of a
language barrier. Very good movie. |
Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life (2003) .... Terry Sheridan
I finally watched the entire movie, not just snippets of it from TV.
It was a very fine performance by Gerard, who would doubt it, but
although the story was interesting and action filled, I was not happy
that Terry was killed at the end. I mean come on, the alternate
ending still has him die but as a sacrifice to save Lara. I much
preferred that idea. Gerard is a hunk in this film! |
Reign of Fire (2002) .... Creedy
This is an exciting futuristic fantasy film with fire breathing monsters
and Creedy is about the only bright spot in it. His optimistic,
smiling persona gives a little comic relief to an otherwise rather dark
story. |
| "The Jury" (2002) (mini) TV mini-series .... Johnnie Donne |
| Shooters (2002) .... Jackie Junior |
| "An Unsuitable Job for a Woman" .... Tim Bolton (1 episode, 2001)
- Playing God (2001) TV episode .... Tim Bolton |
Attila (2001) (TV) .... Attila the Hun
A remarkable leader of men whose one flaw is that his arrogance, he much too easily trusts
women, which ultimately causes his downfall. Gerard makes a
very convincing Attila.
|
| Jewel of the Sahara (2001) (TV) .... Captain Charles Belamy |
Dracula 2000 (2000) .... Dracula.
Gerard gives a very haunting performance as the vampire whose story has
been told over and over. This one has a new twist. One to
watch if you are a GB fan. |
| Harrison's Flowers (2000) .... Chris Kumac, photojournalist |
| The Cherry Orchard (1999) .... Yasha |
One More Kiss (1999) .... Sam
One of those movies that makes you think. What is life all about
and why do we waste so much time worrying about tomorrow and not living
life to it's fullest 'in the moment?' Gerard is wonderful. |
| Please! (1999) .... Peter
Dunn
Excellent acting in this short film of a cautionary tale.
Gerard is great. Check out the You Tube link. |
| "Lucy Sullivan Is Getting Married" (1999) TV series .... Gus
|
| "The Young Person's Guide to Becoming a Rock Star" (1998) TV series
.... Marty Claymore |
| Little White Lies (1998) (TV) .... Peter |
Tale of the Mummy (1998) .... Burke
Gerard's character was sacrificed within the first fifteen minutes. The
film was not memorable but nice to see a few minutes of GB. |
| Fast Food (1998/I) .... Jacko |
Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) .... Leading Seaman - HMS Devonshire
If you blink and are not listening for the Scottish brogue, you will
miss Gerard entirely. I had to carefully go through in slow-mo to
find him. |
| Mrs. Brown (1997) .... Archie Brown |
