This retelling of Homer's epic is pure,
unadulterated spectacle, from the initial moment when Paris falls in love with
Helen during an attempted peace treaty between Troy and the Greeks, through to
the Trojan horse episode. The lavish production includes wide landscape shots,
pained close-ups, a sweeping score, and plenty of extras. Produced in Rome's
Hollywood - Cinecitta - and featuring the surrounding Italian landscape.
